Job Description

This position provides support for various technology projects for the courts, under the direction of the Operations Support Manager. Responsibilities include systems management over distributed infrastructure for the courts, technology research, infrastructure design, testing, training, generation and maintenance of user and technical documentation, administration of commercial software packages, technology refresh management and presentations. Participates in vendor selection and negotiation of hardware solutions. Assists the courts in determining the best methods and cost-effective ways to implement new technology. This position provides support for Supreme Court and Office of State Courts Administrator, and also supports the District Courts of Appeal. 


•    Assists with the implementation and maintenance of enterprise network systems; and supports Enterprise applications that require access and connectivity via court network solutions.  
•    Assists with the implementation and maintenance of enterprise information system or email systems; supports Enterprise applications that require server platforms and backup solutions that are managed by the Office of State Courts Administrator (OSCA) 
•    Supports and maintains the judicial branch statewide network environment with different vendors and providers; and supports and maintains the Office of the State Courts Administrator (OSCA) hosted environment with different vendors and providers, that is, Microsoft (MS) Azure, Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and related others.  
•    Supports and maintains the OSCA hosted email environment with Microsoft O-365, Cisco Hosted Ironport, and other email related security services.
•    Conducts research and evaluates new technologies in support of hosted environment that would benefit the judicial branch infrastructure; research new or emerging technologies that align with the strategic direction of the judicial branch. 
•    Makes recommendations regarding process improvement and implementation.
•    Completes technical tasks, including, but not limited to, serving as backup video coordinator for the courts or managing special technical projects as directed by supervisor. 
•    Gathers information or data to support periodic and special technical reports; documents activities for the area of responsibility; conducts inventory and asset tracking.  
•    Performs administrative tasks, including, but not limited to, performing research, creating user guides, faxing, telephoning, scanning, or photocopying.
•    Attends or conducts staff, committee, and other professional meetings and conferences to exchange information. 
•    Attends technical or professional seminars or conferences to improve professional skills.

Education and Training Guidelines

Education: Refers to job specific training and education that is recommended for entry into the position. Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, programming, or a closely related field.

Experience: Refers to the amount of related work experience that is recommended for entry into the position that would result in reasonable expectation that the person can perform the required tasks. Additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis, excluding supervisory experience.

Four years of related work experience.
